I'm at 5000 hits today...another good week of walleye tracking. Of course you can't trust the DNR. They tell one thing to someone and the opposite to the next guy.
MinnowDunker: calling Gary an asshole is out of line. But I'll keep it posted--you know my thoughts on the 1st Amendment. Gary's ok. He has the best live bait in town all year round. I'm glad he's still around this year since you know whoever buys the store is going to automatically jack prices up. I see your point about him back peddling about his earlier DNR comments. At least we know how Gary truly thinks about them now. I mean it's his business. He's gotta protect it. So Gary, if you read this, how about posting something about kicking those DNR assholes out of your store! That will teach 'em.
AND WHY DON'T ANY DNR OFFICERS CLEAR THE AIR AND COME OUT AND POST SOMETHING TO DR. WALLEYE? Wait, I forgot...they have a tendency to hide...
I personally have gotten checked for littering on the river by two DNR guys. I made them show me their badges. They checked a whole group of us for empty beer cans. They said, "Show us at least 12 empty beer cans." We produced about 30.
Now onto walleye news: yeah it's still super slow out there. I saw license plates from indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin...far way to go for shitty fishing. Man the river was filled with people yesterday...you know...the guys standing in the middle of the river thinking that the farther out they go will get 'em a fish. Now the river will be filled with line and scissor cut braided crap. NOAA is not predicting a rise in water level yet. Over the next few days I think they will predict a bigger surge than we will actually get. But by the week's end things should pick up.

gary is an asshole...i have personally watched him snag a fish and keep it. if you dont practice what you preach then just keep your mouth shut
I apologize for the confusion. I was not referring to Gary, I was referring the the anonymous poster under Dbldip's posting who was bragging about not catching less than 2 fish and saying we absolutely suck. Doc Walleye, feel free to delete my comment if you like, it was not meant to be a personal attack on Gary whatsoever.
Opinions are like ass holes everyone has one ,,lets not get personal,with our comments,,many people think I am a ass hole ,but most won't say it to my face,,,back in the day everyone snagged fish and kept them,,and no one said boo

Yeah, I don't usually respond to anonymous posts, especially since I've got way more walleye in the freezer than he does. I catch my fish in fours. Twos are for amateurs.

When down for a couple hours tonight on Bluegrass. Only 1 throwback and only saw 3 fish leave river total. This is some of the slowest I have ever seen it this time of year after the start we had. Sounds like WALLEYEMASTER wants to challenge Doc W to a fishin dual. I say they put a King Can as the prize!
Yes today was badddd. 2 hrs of nothing was enough for me. Even tried 20 minutes of bluegill fishing. Same results. Time for a new hobby. Until tomorrow. & I never saw a fish 'protector'. Wish they had protectors from those nasty deer. Oh wait that might mean hunters.
We fished daybreak till 1 and managed two legal fish between 3 of us. 1 snagged and released, and I got 6 suckers....
The sleet was a nice touch though...
