Flooded
The Mighty Maumee is fired up! She started slowly rising at 10:30 am on 4/11 starting at 2.6 on NOAA. She's up to 6.3 at 10:00 pm. That's a sharp increase. Predictions for Friday are to end the night at about 10 ft. No one will fish tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday. Boaters should not attempt to get out there. The flow went from 1.67 kcfs to 17.6 kcfs today. No anchor will hit bottom now. And the river isn't done. Flow is projected to increase into the 70.0 range, which is swifter than I can picture. The crest is predicted at 12 ft on Sunday morning. I do not think the river will get to that point, even though our forecasted rainfall went up to 2" overnight. NOAA always predicts more than what ever actualy occurs, but even so, a river over 8 ft is unfishable. So, look for spectacular fishing next week once the river drops. Remember that in addition to my NOAA interpretations, I also put my eyes on the river and then post my reports. So, stay tuned, and I'll keep you updated. And also, the many people who are posting are giving good information too. Thanks for the help. I'll also check with Schroeders tomorrow to find out if they need campers to bail out. The Blanchard River in Findlay is already under watch, and several roads are closed already--and it will get worse. Guys from the Findlay area--please let us know how you are doing down there, and best wishes to you. The Portage will spill into Pemberville, and it looks like Grand Rapids could go under attack. This is a big flood everybody.

Doc..... please update about Shroaders soon as u find out. My buddy left his boat there. Don't want it floating around Erie.
Thanks Roy
Most of the houses along Eagle Creek in Findlay are doing fine (mine flooded twice before) but I am not sure about anything along the Blanchard yet. Thanks for wishing Findlay well though! .... I was wondering how all this water will affect the success of the spawn in the Maumee. I know it cant be good but will it completely ruin it? I know everyone on here hopes not, just wondered your opinion doc. Thanks!
Schroeders is just fine! The river will not be over the campground! The river will crest saturday just over 587. I have seen it 590 and campers were just fine...muddy but not underwater!
River at Waterville at 3 Pm 9.24 ft still a few guys fishing never saw a fish not even a sucker
Glad to hear that Schroeders is going to stay dry. Thanks Heather! Sid the Kid: As long as the water gets the hell out of here, fishing will be spectacular for a few weeks. Not to worry! The only time the river flushes all the walleye out is when we have multiple storms and then a strong west wind. We will be ok.
i think sid was talking about the overall success of the hatch and whether the high water will hurt the success of the spawn
