Marching toward the campground!
Schroeder Farms Campground officially opens on March 10! Time to get out the camping gear and campfire coffee pots! As you see above, the river did not rise as predicted earlier this week. It rained hard mid-week, but the river did not flood out by any means. The Mighty Maumee is in great fishable shape right now with all access points open including Bluegrass Island. Water temp has fallen out to 40 degrees.

Looking forward to another great start to the fishing year. Couldn't help myself, just dropped a few Benjamin's on some new outfits. I'm ready to get this thing started!
hells yeah fisherboy. You"ll have all the riva women wanting a piece. Stock up on the blue pills. I can carry all those fish you catch for ya if needed. I heard the run is over. All the eyez will be spawning in the lake this season. No fish in the stream. Don't waste your time. False hope.
I fished on Sunday and didn't feel any fish. I saw no one with fish on either side of the river.
Limited out on white bass today guys!
Still early yet. Cold front moving in for the weekend. March will begin trending back to a more seasonable temperature. We turn the clocks ahead Sunday which means longer days. Walleye need both water temperature and photoperiod (hours of daylight) to be conducive for spawning. Fish On!
Us turning back the clocks has noting to do with the amount of daylight in a day. The fish don't know what time it is but that is an important factor in their spawning cycle.
The vernal equinox which is March 20th, marks the first day of spring and equal amounts of day and night. From this point until the summer solstice June 21st, the amount of daylight will be increasing daily. This is the photoperiod. I was just giving a friendly reminder to the fellow anglers about setting their clocks AHEAD.
