The river this morning is at 586. Another washout. Last night I snagged into lots of fish, keeping 2. One was a 5 lb 11 oz female that I kept. The river was so swift that the fish would barely come in, getting caught in the current and banging against the willows thus popping off. The river came up 6" in 2 hours. Now, we can't get to any good fishing spot. At 584 I'll go back down, maybe by Monday or Tuesday.
The tournament has about 7-10 guys in it for a week from today. Hope for no rain and good west wind to get the river down. If it's a washout, then people will have a tough time finding a place to fish. May have to separate into groups.
I saw a guy take a second class dump yesterday. Some redneck from Portsmouth. He took 1 step into the river and came up to his chest. It was funnier than all heck. The water was just above his waders, and he couldn't get out--just clung to the bank before his buddies gave him a heave. Then, about an hour later some dipshit was walking out of the river, tripped and fell on his face in about 2 feet of water. That's a first class dump there. Gosh, that makes me laugh so hard!
But in good news, a guy from Weston was fishing down from us. As I was fighting a fish, my empty beer can floated away from my beer belt, I mean wader belt. I asked him to get it for me, and he was able to grab it. So, I gave him a full one. Nice guy.

Saturday depth was 587, way too high. Sunday is 586. Still too high for my place. I need a boat.
I plan on getting out several times this week before the tournament on Saturday. If anyone can make it out let me know. I am having trouble logging in... everytime! Any help or am I screwed? Corky
I got that mess fixed. Like I said I want to get a few trips under my belt this week before I take all of the winnings on Saturday... Rock On!
