The river dropped a a little over a foot. Great news. If the river keeps this up, and gets to 584, we can cross the island the long way around. A few weeks ago I crossed it at 584 1/2, and it was iffy coming back against the current. But at 584, I think anyone can handle it. Keep your fingers crossed for Sat!
Nick and I talked about me getting a boat to ferry us across. We are choosing not to pursue it, since some guys will have to leave early. And if other people want to just watch the fishing without waders, then it's a bad idea to get a boat and impossible to get to the island.
