6.29

The river has not risen sharply as predicted by NOAA. We are at 6.29 and the flow (speed) has actually decreased overnight slightly. On Thursday NOAA predicted that we would be at flood stage 8 ft reading) by Sunday, but I don't see that happening.

Welcome new members! I see that Thomas and Richard have joined the party here at MRWR. I think one of you may have signed up a while back. Feel free to post. If you can't figure out the google sign-in thing don't worry about it. You can always just sign your post. I mean DBLDIP hasn't figured it out in 2 years.

Maybe Closer and I will get out on Sunday. But we have light rain today and we have to expect the river to rise.

WASHED OUT on Sunday. The river is above 8.0 ft and is still rising. 9 feet is flood stage. No fishing for a few days unless you're in a boat.

Wow! This is what we needed to clean out the river and give us some good fishing in the days to come. I am still planning on getting out on Tuesday morning and afternoon with Dr. Headed down to river today to take another look.

NOAA predictions for Tuesday are at above 8 ft still. But if the wind helps us out that would be nice. NOAA always predicts things higher than they actually get too.

I checked out the lower lot at 1 pm and saw one bufu elbow deep off to the left. I don't know how he kept from snagging into tree trunks. There were a few guys across the river walking around too. At Orleans there were a few trucks parked but we didn't drive down to the bottom.

Seriously though, Corky is right. This IS what we need to spur some movement in the Bay and flush out the braided line from last year!...thus Dr. Walleye's reminder to out-of-towners...USE MONOFILAMENT YOU JERK OFFS!

Way to tell them Doc, Scotty was down at Orleans on Thursday and saw 2 of our illustrious green truck jerkoffs eyeballing the river. I heard a rumor last night that Wood Countys own Marty aka-dickhead Baer was going to retire. we could only be so lucky, I'm sure he would be one of those guys who would come back each spring as a temp for the DNR to keep his legacy alive.
