The sheeer amount of people in the river is impressive. While I'm sure it has happened I cannot remember the river being this full this time of year. I mean with record breaking temps, we should have expected it.
Thursday evening was fairly low pressure. Guys were getting lots of fish. I reached my goal of 20 on Thurs...15 walleye and 6 carp. I was even culling my stringer (which is legal). Hard to decide whether to keep 17 inchers or 22s.
Closer and I put a Heineken tallboy on all trash fish minus white bass for the month of April, and I can't believe I got out to such a big start on carp. Corkman got 2 walleye home on Thurs. Toon got the blank but enjoyed some well deserved time away from work.
Friday we were at our spot by 6:30, and the river was already filling up. By 8:00 we almost left because of the amount of dipshits who were elbowing in. I had a guy step in no more than 3 feet from me...and had he set a fish would have cracked me in the face. Word to out of towners...if you don't get there early, stay home! Yes the river is open to all, but if you're a dick, you're a dick. And there are too many dicks down there jsut butting in thinking they own the place and can fish where ever they want. Ugh...you'll have that in life.
So Friday morning there were tangles everywhere with guys floating way too far down river and knockin fish off of people's lines. You name it. It was awful. But Easy Limit got 3 and bailed. Corky nailed 3 home--nice work hangin in there bud. I barely got a limit home. We left by 10:45. This weekend will be crazy as it gets.
I'll be down after the weekend but don't know when. Hopefully when people have to go back home.
