Mid March
Hey all you white bass freaks! Sounds like a mixed review in the last few days. Now with this rain, who knows what will happen. I'm hoping for a big run of bass by the weekend. I hope to get out this weekend sometime. Don't even know when. MAW's mom fell and broke her shoulder. She's having surgery tomorrow to replace the bone socket and cup inside her shoulder. Not the rotator but something else. So, if you're going to head down, call me. The blog isn't getting my attention lately due to bunches of things happening at work. But I would like to post an update soon about how Doc and friends got a shload of WB.

Another typical trip to Ft. Meigs.
Son & I caught 65 WB. Tom (my son) got a nice legal WE. His 1st of the year. All a little downriver from where EZ fishes except for 3 from the hole. (& I refuse to clean any more WB for son. Actually its not bad doing since he does as much work as I do.)
The only other person there got a WE & 63 WB. A hell of a fisherman it appears. Again I had to feel like a rank beginner.
Thursday
Son & I tried Doc's hole at BW where we ran into Birdman who had 2 WB. Tried for only 15 minutes & left because of high winds & lack of luck by Birdman.
Tried the various spots at Ft Meigs for a short while. No luck. Birdman got 1 WB & 1 Quillback. Way to windy & muddy.
Son & I went to check on channel between Bluegrass & the north shore. Fiddle there for 30 minutes. Son got 2 WB & I managed 1small smallmouth.
Went to BW in evening to see how some guys from Canton did. The 6 guys got 1 WB total. Yesterday 300 or so. What a difference a day makes!
Even with the rain & the wind strange how everything can change overnight. But they said the water came up a foot in the evening. Wonder what BS (excuse me - information) will be on Gary's web site.
Lake update, went out Friday am, Birdman's wife 5 WE, Rog 4 WE, Birdman and myself each 1 WE. Quite a few sheepys, white perch, 1 yellow perch, 3 cats/ 1 was 7.5 lb by Mrs Birdman and I caught 1 really nice smally probably 3+ pounds which was of course thrown back,don't keep them even when in season.
Guess we know who's good on the lake. My take at camper, 2 very small bass, 2 decent bass lost, 26 gills kept, 19 tossed back.
Wednesday
Back to the River.
Went to fish fry at Bill's Bar (on Airport) where my son furnished a bunch of whities. Tasted mighty good with the beer batter & Drake (?). (The beer was mighty good too.)
The 2 of us caught 68 WB. My skill is really going to hell as he caught 51 of them. That left 17 for me. BTW I did catch a nice WE so that could count for 10 (maybe).
The other fisherman had around 10 or so except 1 who had about 20.
Tomorrow I am on my own. No one to fish with. Might be just as well. Hope my reel works a little smoother after the greasing it got.
