The river crested at 6 am this morning at 6.82 feet. That will limit access severely today, but look out for much improved fishing this week.
I noticed last week the amount of trash that people leave behind at nearly every access point. I've also noticed a lot of trash on my blog. If that does not work I will moderate all comments, which would restrict all comments until I review them and then mark them for view.

If you're out there guys pickup your trash, and try to bring in any line that you might reel in. Maybe the DNR should put out some of those line recycle bins and put our money to a good use. I always bring back enough line to spool up a reel or two.
Can I seriously ask u why u keep deleting my comments.... My name really is Eugene....blame my mom if u don't like my name
I just talked to the "Eugene" we all know so don't know what this dudes deal is. Maybe he should make up a new sign in name.
there is more than one eugene in this world. There are probably thousands. Sorry my name is eugene
fished the river this morning for a couple hours, no fish. I then went down to Fremont to give it a try. First cast hooked a 10lb female in the back. too bad it wasnt in the mouth, I still would have probably thrown her back, but I would have felt better actually catching it. My Brother caught 2 nice white bass, and I got one. The river there was only up a little. I seen about 10 eyes and about 10 or so white bass caught. Alot of snagged eyes. I dont know if I will be back to the river for walleye this year. If the bite picks up really well, I just might have to make the trip back. I hate to end the run with a 0. Three trips, nine legal eyes.
Fished the lake today 7 fish four guys got s late start. The 7 oclockers were done by ten and back at dock tons of boats ... On vacation this week back to river in morning anybody have suggestions ? I was thinking Orleans or white ??????
I caught a limit at jerome rd. today. let 2 go that I snagged. Good luck
I am new to this site but have been fishing the river for 10 years. I have only had 1 good day so far this year. I mostly fish buttonwood and bluegrass. I've only caught 5 fish in 4 trips. Where else should I try when the water level drops back down. I do have 2 good high water areas. I'm hoping Wednesday will be a good day unless the drop in water temp that we will have over the next two days messes everything up. I'm hoping to see some good reports on here the next couple days. Good luck everyone.
I got a five pound walleye this evening at Orleans. I went out about 5:30 and had one on within 15 minutes.
Went to BW around 6:00. 1 sucker, 1 catfish & 1 quillback. Saw a lot of suckers caught, no WE. It was nice to not have a croud around & it actually was pleasant (even without WE).
Our group got into a few walleye last night. Look for great fishing this week.
we had 4 guys yesterday, 3 limits and a single from orleans area. Didn't see many other fish caught, we had to really work for them, took about 6 hours
did they look like they were fresh and new into the river
I saw quite a few fresh walleye out there yesterday, fishing at Orleans. The one I caught was new and I saw a number of others caught by guys fishing near me. I even saw a few females that were hard with eggs.
Has anyone had any luck today? Hoping the cooler weather doesn't mess it up to bad.
i am hoping for more cool weather. The walleyes need the water 42-52 for a successful spawn. Any warmer than that most of the eggs dont make it
Tried Fremont the other day if I was fishing for carp I’d have limited out twice ands that’s not an exaggeration. Some of the carp the other guys caught were huge 30 plus inches. One guy caught a 6.5 lb eye or so and few more guys finished with doubles I don’t know if its worth going back there or not.
Dbldip I hear you killed them last night
EZ limit for the Doc last night! Fish everywhere!
Do you guys think the action will still be pretty hot by sunday? My brother is coming in from out of town to go fishing. It will be nice to actually have a fishing partner for a change.
@Eugene - yeah, all but two the fish we took home looked VERY fresh, the other two looked like they had been in there a while.
Where is the hot spot at today? I'm going up after work.
Orleans
Yea I struck out last night but got them this morning. So did Graybeard, Birdman was having problems. Lots of fresh fish in right now, The guys on the sewer in maumee were hammering them.
What leader length everybody using?
Sideways.... Leader should be the same length as your rod. The one in your pants....4 inches!
Fished the sewers today, and buddy we done got 'em!
Thanks. River rat. For the info. U know, u must really be kicking ass with that 4 inch leader. I bet the suckers really love it.
So I guess Ft Meigs is good. Nice to know. Was going to walk back but not alone. (I'm a scary cat.)
Went to BW & landed 5 legal ones, plus getting 1 handoff & gave 1 handoff. Hate throwing back legal ones. Should have given 1 more handoff. Saw Birdman car at his normal spot. Was going to walk back without boots to BS but didn't. Back was killing me.
I will be up there the next 3 days. It should be a pretty fun weekend. 3 guys I know limited out in 3 hrs today. Good luck to all!!
