Storms of Hope

It's raining heavy here right now and the radar shows thunderstorms all the way back to the Indiana line. If this holds, we could see the river rise, which we sure need.

Walleye Warriors: Thanks for all of your updates this weekend. That gives me a look at how things are going since I can't always provide the reports. This blog is useful to me too! Some of the regulars told me that fishing has been really slow at the downriver spots. It's probably time to head upriver boys.

LET IT RAIN! Just like last week, once the rain hits and the river crests, fishing always picks up. There will be another batch of walleye coming too. Don't know if this rain today will do it though.

Myself and the Birdman went down to Bluegrass yesterday. I kept my streak of crappy days going strong. He did finish up with 3 after a long time. There were several large females both caught and snagged which were still hard with eggs. Lots of smaller jacks than I've seen all year also. A lot of guys were doing good if you were in the right drifting spots.

We did really well friday and saturday. Sunday was so busy I couldn't fish were I wanted to so i left after 3 hrs with only 1. I caught 12 legal eyes fri & sat each and was sittin at the pub by 1 pm each day. I also seen several very small jacks, I tossed 2 back around 16in. We need rain.

So so day at BW. 2 nice jacks fishing a no current hole. In the faster waters snaged 6, lost 1 in line, had 3 WE scales. Got pissed, went to shore. Never found that drift again. Maybe it was for the good that I didn't.

I brought home 3 yesterday, threw 1 back, and had a few more on. Closer got 1 and lost another that attacked him.

By the way, the river was slowly rising yesterday and is still creeping up...from 2.8 to 3.26. It's a little bit of help for us but not enough...

Doc, did the closer need medical attention from the attack? HAHA I could see Fisherboy or Graybeard taken out by a rabid Wally!

Lucked out with 4 keepers, 2 snagged. Only took 20 hrs (or so it seem). Damn guys in middle of river makes me want to puke. Water was up a few inches. At BW of course which seems to be the only place I fish anymore.

Saw quite a few of our "fish protectors" wasting their time in the woods scoping.

yeah went out yesterday. Got 5 legal fish but threw 2 females back. One looked to have already spawned but wanted to make sure and the other had yet to spawn. So many snags with the water being this low. Did see the DNR make a bust and that made my day. I love seeing losers that think walleye is gold get busted.

if gary says this is one of the best years again i am gonna punt him in the nutsac. What an idiot. He claimed that the crowd left because of that 30 minute thunderstorm two days ago. Get real gary they left cuz the fishing isnt that good

David how was your trip to Ft Meigs? Loved (?) the activity in the middle. 1 guy was handed the pole 3 times. Nice way to get a limit. Just jealous it was not me.

But I left with 4. 3 snagged WE. Damn line in river is crazy. Lost 3 because of it.

Is it worth no sleep and a 2 hour drive to come up on Sunday?

fisherboy said...

Not in my opinion but I'm not sure I would do it if I was guaranted 4 fish.

Yyeah u could spend all day and only end up with 1 or 2....not worth the drive for the poor fishing
