Crested Beaute!
The river crested on Saturday at noon at 10.32. Right now we're at 9.8 which equates to 587'10". The river is MOVING OUT. Fast stuff. I watched a huge tree trunk float by yesterday. A few boats are out there although I have no idea why. Well actually, one dude I talked to was like, "Hey, this is the only chance I have to fish." I get that. Look for more rain later this week, but we might be able to get in at high water spots by Tuesday. Time will tell. The river usually drops about one foot per day when it's like this although it didn't drop that far in the last 24 hours.

Got 12 last night! Sorry fisherboy, I didn't catch a variety pack. All 12 were crappie from a pond that is 5 minutes away. 5 minutes compared to an hour and a half to come fish the maumee. I made the drive out on Saturday, basically out of curiosity and boredom. I fished meigs, Orleans and white street for a total of about 2 hours. Didn't catch anything, I did see 3 eyes snagged at Orleans. After that went and donated some cash to maumee tackle and then went up to bass pro. As many times as I've drove past, I've never went in. The place is amazing( a bit overpriced), spent damn near 2 hours looking at everything. After that stopped by Fremont for a few and hooked up with 5 buffalo carp. Between there brute strength and the raging current, each one took at least 10 minutes to land! Anyway, thanks on advance for any updates throughout the week. Would love to be catching some eyes again by Friday!
Went down for a couple hours this morning only saw 1 walleye taken off point at white st. Had hold of a few quillback but that was it. Water only looks to have dropped 6 inches or so in that area.
Dbldip: I walked over to the Point at White St when I left the guys said they did get any walleye ,but did get a few carp and buffalo .and a few greasers ( Shad )What is that blue Truck that keeps coming down to Orleans today.with some grumpy old guy in it
How do you guys feel about fishing tomorrow, will it be worth coming up?
if you want to spend hours catching nothing. Water still too high to be worth it
Hookteye went to diff location today. Got 32 trout. Then to top it off since it was early & a friend asked me to go with him went to the spot I was yesterday. Total there was TWO gills, What a diff a day makes, Have to get back trying for WE.
What happened to all the eyes when they comin back and when will blue grass be good
You cannot cross to bluegrass unless the water is at 582 or below. Nothing happened to the walleye, its just tough fishing til the water gets back down. I will be there tomorrow regardless.
Ft Wayne Forecast 1.5 to 3 inches of rain Thursday
i dont know greybeard. The weather channel has actually lowered it from 70% chance of rain thurday to 50% chance.
If Fort Wayne gets 3" it will be another week of no fishing. The Weather Channel is over rated anyway. There are several other sites that are more dependable.
