Rhonda and I took the boys to Kirk and Dan's annual fish fry on Saturday. It was a sunny day and not too cold of a breeze. We walked to the river and had a look around. Talk about dry. The island is at its usual late April depth. The party was not very well attended, but I took Kirk some walleye to thank him for the parking spot.
I'm going fishing sometime this week! How about you, Corky? Thursday maybe? I plan to park at Schroeder Farms and walk down that way probably. Or, park at Kirk's and walk way upriver and then maybe work our way back toward the truck.
Guys were catching walleye on floaters off the island, but I bet that upriver is even better.
The rules change on May 1, Thursday. Might have to have a late-night fishing evening with the lanterns and everything. Go for some white bass and late-night walleye--6 of 'em!
