Well, the weather hurt us on the lake. Wednesday in the morning, Corky, Moses, and EZ Limit went out a few miles and got 4 on purple hair jigs with trailing stingers, both tipped with minnows. That night the wind made things unfishable. Moses and I hit it in the morning in the rain. We didn't get a thing. I even tried a bottom bouncer. Our drift was too fast even with a sock off the back.
May 1 has passed, so get out those Mepps, Rooster Tails, etc. Limit is up to 6. I don't know when I can even fish. Maybe Sunday evening or something. I'm switching to floaters and spinners when I get out next. The river is at 4.54 and is expected to crest tomorrow at 5.0. That keeps every spot open on the island. Give me some news from Buttonwood when you get down there again, Fisherboy.
Last year at about this time for 2 weeks, Fisherboy was tagging limits of 6 with ease. Hope it happens again.
I'll keep posting for a few weeks, but because I won't be fishing much, I won't have as many posts as usual. Keep commenting please to keep everyone up to date. Only a few days until DBLDIP gets his legs wet!

Friday is the day boys, vacation time will finally be here, with my luck it will only mean Boofalos and gars, the Birdman wants to get his boat out soon so maybe we can catch up with EZ limit and the Doc on the lake sometime. At least it is a good excuse to drink a few cold brews.
Hey DBLDIP: On Friday, I don't think I have anything going on. I'll double check. But it could be a good night to drive down and stay a little past dark. I'll buy the beer in celebration, but you'll need your own cooler. Mine is usually stocked pretty full! Maybe Corky, Toon, and T$ would join in the fun.

Might as well go check on BW. Trouble is I feel like shit. Not out since Thursday which was not too productive. Saturday screwed around with Gills. 13 (suspose half would be keepers) & 1 mighty largemouth of 8".
Fisherboy, I think all of your feeling like shit is from not having me around to cheer you up on a daily basis or just from having to carry your own fish all year!! Doc, I 'll check out about Friday and let you know. None of that Milwaukees Best that fisherboy likes though..
