DNR Dollars and Real Fishin

If the river chills out for the next few days and then swells based on NOAA predictions then I anticipate a whole lot of people at Orleans, Tow Path, and even the lower Ft. Meigs lot this entire upcoming weekend. The guys at the lower lot won't be able to cross. Bluegrass will shutdown again. Orleans will get popular. And Dr. Walleye will find the fish! Things are going to get swift again. Catch 'em while DBLDIP can!

Nice reports the last 24 hrs. Thanks guys. What is particularly interesting lately are the multiple views coming out about the damn DNR and whatnot. It's as if guys who throw lead are automatically cast as foul-hookers.

Well let me tell you something. Dr. Walleye is a traditional guy, and while I dabble in nontraditional guises sometimes, I'm always going back to where I came from. Take your new fishing tactics and I'll show you a full freezer of fresh Maumee River goodness taken legally on lead.

I can tell you this: for those who think that an absence of the DNR is going to negatively affect the Maumee River walleye population, I say that you are crazy. Walleye are not impacted negatively by any means when they travel mother river. They are a representation of the species. If you think that river fishermen of any type are reason for declining walleye populations, then you are a closeminded thinker. There are far more dangerous things than us, for example, industrial pollution.

Also, here at my site we value those guys coming in from out-of-town IF and only IF you respect those around you. You are welcome here if you fish in a way that respects others. You have seen the other side...people who butt in or even worse...start floating their crap my way, when all I'm trying to do is cast directly in front of me. Fuck Saturdays.

FISH ON! More walleye coming. Dr. Walleye will GUARANTEE that one.

Where's the fish?? Actually I FINALLY got a full ticket. Had help on my last fish but what the hell. 2 casts later I helped another person. Threw back 3 WE including a 22" on my last cast, completly swallowed. Guess I should use a wire stringer if I want to cull fish. Small one was 18-19". All males. Yes we went to get our pictures taken. Have to get up-to-date picture for dear fish 'protectors'.

Glad to hear you got your 4 there Fisherboy, that just leaves me and Scotty boy picking up the rear in the search for a limit. The weather is not sounding to inviting next couple of days but a little rain sure wouldnt hurt either. I'll try to catch up with you later in the week Doc.

wow your dumber than i thought. If the DNR were not there at the river people would be snagging and keeping far more than the limit of 4. How on gods green earth you think that it wouldnt have a negative effect on the river is beyond me.

I have to agree with anonymous I am hiding behind the word,, anonymous being X Military and supervisor I always Disregarded any comments where the person was not man or women enough to own up to their comments.thats how disagreements are settled,,put on the gloves and step into the ring, and settle it,,it only hurts for a few days ,,this is fun hiding where you can say anything you want with no consequence,,for your remarks,,but always remember big brother is lurking

I think everyone should just abide by the laws and you don't have to worry about the dnr as for the out of towners we just love to fish. Maybe we should just stick to the fishing and not argue about the things out of our control.

Slow for me today at Doc's Hole. 1 legal, 1 'snaged' about 1/4" too far away fr the inside of the mouth & 1 sucker. Fr around 10 to 1:15. Left around the time the rain started. Saw Birdman car at Ft Meigs. More of a man than I to fish in it.

Dear Dr. Walleye,
I used to be a crank yanking snag geek until I got busted by the best warden that ever donned a pair of brush pants (nice fitting I might add). I think they called him "Beagle" or something similar. Anyway he crawled out of a hollow log in Buttonwood and escorted my rear off to court. Paid a couple of hundred bucks for that fish. Sure learned my lesson!

Very few guys on the river today, east wind making conditions hard to fish. Birdman and Greybeard only landed 1 legal between the 2 of them. Hope to get out tomorrow. No report from Fisherboy today.
