Bassin'
Last week one night The Closer and I hit up a private pond in Perrysburg (Belmont--with permission of course) and nailed some quick largemouth. We had 7 fish in 40 minutes, all over 14". He got the nicest bluegill I've seen in years on a small spoon-style crankbait. It had to have been a Fisherboy FishOhio for sure, but we through it back. Not sure why. Guess I didn't want my brew to be fishy tasting! I ended the night with 7 largemouth to Closer's 3 + bluegill. Word of warning though: do not go to Belmont unless you have permission. Every other trip I make there gets me a visit from the township PD. They're nice officers--following up on older ladies who call concerned about fish they never fished for. But whatever. It helps to know someone to get to those obscure fishing holes.

Which pond? The one where you got the crappies ice fishing? Or the pond by the clubhouse/
There you go Doc W giving ur hotspots to fisherboy.
Dbldip Went bellyboating yesterday at 3 Meadows. Talk about cramps in the legs but it was fun. Fishing was not great but catching a 15" (or so) catfish sitting on a tube is exciting.
1st time in around 10 years.
I have only been there once this year with my float tube and only caught a couple dink catfish but it was early in the evening, water was very warm and went home before prime time. Would like to try some other places with tube. Maybe Windjammer apt lake or Lake Vue pond sometime when you feel up to the challenge. Have caught 5 snappers out of one other pond this year also Fisherboy.
Tried the river today. Managed to get 23 assorted fish (saugeye - 1, white bass, sheephead, largemouth bass & even a shad). Even lost a small crappie. Water was low. Surprised that I did not get any cats.
