Hoax: Ice solution on the river + debunked rumor of new state walleye record
Edited post due to Hoax: According to various sources, the USCG Cutter Mackinaw was headed from Lake Erie Bay up the Maumee River to break up ice. This was labelled part of the solution to save Grand Rapids from flooding. However, I am still hoping to hear about dynamite being used to break up ice at the damn, but this claim is wishful thinking...simply because I would like to witness it. If you have a credible update on this issue, please post it. Thanks.
Also, if you heard of a state record walleye caught at Catawba on the ice, it was not a record. Rumors of a 41" walleye are flying around. However, if you check http://www.mikessportfishing.com/ you will see the picture on the charter that caught it. It's huge. I have gathered that it was 11 lbs and 37"...that is what my best research revealed.

Doc, Graybeard sent that same article about the 37 in walleye. I do not know how a 37 in walleye could only weigh 11 pounds. There is no way that is a male so something is not right about that entire story. Any female that big would be loaded with eggs and weigh a lot more. What do others think?
here is the site nothing is said about length
