The 2018 fishing season is around the corner!
Welcome back Walleye Warriors! Winter in NW Ohio and on the Maumee River watershed has been typical. We enjoyed early ice in late December and got out ice fishing prior to New Years. Snowfall was around average, and ice returned in February for more crappie fishing in areas ponds. The river iced over as usual but was not locked in for very long. There is no longer ice anywhere up and down the river. Recent rain caused the river to rise to 11' on NOAA, which is just into flood stage...again typical. Time for mother nature to do her thing and provide a steady river with slowly rising temps. It will be a few more weeks until you hear of a walleye even getting caught, but welcome back anyway! I'll provide updates as usual, with many of them happening on Instagram @drwalleye. Tune in and have some fun!
