Hoping for the best

The river is falling from 8.5 ft today. I hope that even with some rain in the forecast the river will not rise. Fishing will steadily improve. But fishing spots will not all be open this weekend due to the water level. Boaters will have the advantage. I thought I got my first jack of the year this week but it was a smaller rock hard female.

I agree Doc. Tonight's forecast for Ft. Wayne is only .3" of rain. Shouldn't do to much to the river as long as it don't change. I've only fished once this year, but I'll be there Sat & maybe tomorrow, work depending. I'll give a report! Good luck all!

Reports from yesterday and today are lots of limits from the high water spots. Boats also doing well just off main current. This weekend looks to be very good as of now. Fisherboy where are your reports? Heard you smacked them in the raccoon hole again. Please remember to respect property owners and not tresspass where posted. This has become a bigger problem in the last few years.

are you talking about the area between buttonwood and the fort?

Don't know about smacking them but I did ok. Got to spot around 6:30 & it looked like every spot was taken. Where there were 4 people yesterday the was 15. What a nightmare. I was sitting on my bucket trying to figure out where to go when i heard someone said I could fish between he & his son. A guy I knew from BW. The 3 of us limited out along with god knows how many others.
Almost glad i have an appointment tomorrow morning so i don't have to fight the crowd again. Maybe the afternoon crowd will be smaller, Let's hope BW opens up,

Thats one spot kingslayer, some of the residents on the Maumee side around White St have had issues also. Any landowner has the right to deny access and a lot of them try do this because of the litter and garbage left on their property. If it is not parkland( Orleans-city of Perrysburg,Sidecut-Lucas county metroparks,buttonwood- Wood county parks, Ft Meigs proper- Ohio Historical Society, White St access- City of Maumee) it is private and some landowners don't seem to mind. ex just east of Schroeders. While others have had enough and since they pay taxes on that property I don't blame them for limiting access.

why would land owners have problems with people at white st?? People just stick to the path to get to the water

First time in the river today and I got a limit in about an hour and a half. It was such a beautiful day too! Love this time of year. We were in a boat down by Orleans, and was using 3/4...probably could have thrown of a 5/8. Pink is the color!

Orleans from the boat launch to the sewer pipe was good today. 1/2 ounce with a 3 foot leader. Pink and chartrusse are the colors over.
